There is 01 solitary vacancy available for the Sports Person (Hockey - Men, Goal Keeper) position at Pay Matrix Level-2 RS(RP) Rules'2016. This is an open advertisement with no specific community reservation, making it a highly competitive merit-based selection.

Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of 01-01-2026. This means candidates must have been born between 02-01-2001 and 01-01-2008 (both dates inclusive). No age relaxation, either upper or lower, is permissible for any category of candidates under any circumstances.

Candidates must possess a minimum educational qualification applicable to the chosen post (Pay Matrix Level-2, GP 1900) as on the notification date (18-02-2026). Options include: Technician Gr.III: 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) by NCVT OR 10th Pass plus ITI in relevant trades OR simply 10th Pass (with specified training periods). Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk: 12th (+2 Stage) Pass or its equivalent. Those appearing for final exams or awaiting results are not eligible. For Hockey (Men) Goal Keeper (Level-2, GP 1900), the minimum required sports achievements include: Junior (Under 21) National Hockey Championship OR Participation in International tournaments (Senior or Junior) of four or more nations OR Semi-finalist in Senior National Championship. Recognized sports achievements must be current or from the immediate previous two financial years, meaning on or after 01-04-2023.

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 2 (GP 1900) as per RS(RP) Rules 2016, which is equivalent to a robust pay scale of Rs. 19,900 – 63,200 as per the 7th CPC recommendations. Recruitment will be strictly at the minimum of the scale of pay.

The selection process involves several rigorous stages: Document Verification/Trials: This crucial stage assesses sports performance and overall suitability. Only 'FIT' candidates proceed further. Mark Distribution: A total of 100 Marks are allotted: 40 Marks for game skill, physical fitness & coach's observations during Trials; 50 Marks for recognized Sports Achievements; and 10 Marks for Educational Qualification. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 65 Marks out of 100 for Level-2 (GP 1900). Proficiency in Typing Skill: Applicable only for Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk type posts at Level-2, to be passed within 4 years of appointment, if the underlying role requires it. Medical Examination: All shortlisted candidates must undergo a comprehensive medical examination as per Railway standards. Candidates must bring their own sports kit for trials and may need to arrange accommodation for 2-3 days, as no TA/DA is provided, except for eligible SC/ST candidates for second-class Rail travel.

The application fee is Rs. 500/- for all candidates except those in specific categories (SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes), for whom the fee is Rs. 250/-. For the Rs. 500/- category, Rs. 400/- will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the trials. For the Rs. 250/- category, the full amount will be refunded to those who actually appear in the trials. The fee is strictly non-refundable/non-transferable if a candidate does not fulfill eligibility criteria, applies incorrectly, or fails to appear for trials.

Applications are accepted exclusively offline. The process involves: Downloading the official notification and application form (Annexure-I) from www.rwf.indianrailways.gov.in. Printing and accurately filling the form by hand with a blue ballpoint pen (English or Hindi). Affixing a recent (not older than 3 months) passport-size color photograph (4 cm x 5 cm), ensuring it is clear, without goggles/colored glasses, sharp, clear, and with a light background. Paste it neatly. Signing at designated places, providing two physical identification marks, and a clear Left thumb impression. Explicitly applying for "Hockey (Men), Goal Keeper".
