Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2026)

18-25 Years

Candidates born between 02-01-2001 and 01-01-2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.

No age relaxation is permissible for any category.

Educational Qualification

Minimum for Pay Matrix Level-2 (GP 1900) as on 18-02-2026. This includes:

  • 10th pass (with 2 years training if no ITI/NAC)
  • OR 10th pass + ITI/NAC (with 6 months training)
  • OR 12th (+2 Stage) Pass for Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk roles.

Candidates appearing for final exams or awaiting results are not eligible.

Sports Achievement (Hockey - Men, Goal Keeper)

Recognized sports achievements in Hockey (Men) specifically for Goal Keeper position, on or after 01-04-2023. Minimum norms include:

  • Junior (Under 21) National Hockey Championship, OR
  • Participation in International tournaments of four or more nations, OR
  • Semi-finalist in Senior National Championship.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Matrix Level 2 (GP 1900) as per RS(RP) Rules 2016, equivalent to Rs. 19,900 – 63,200 as per 7th CPC. Recruitment will commence at the minimum of the specified scale of Pay.

Application Fee

Rs. 500/- for all candidates.

Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).

Refundable: Rs. 400/- for Rs. 500/- category, full amount for Rs. 250/- category, if candidate appears in trials. The fee is strictly non-refundable/non-transferable if eligibility not met or failure to appear for trials.

Payment through crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) payable at Bangalore in favor of 'Principal Financial Adviser (PFA), Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore-560 064'.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

  • Document verification/Trials (to assess sports performance and suitability). Only 'FIT' candidates proceed.
  • Marks Distribution (Total: 100 Marks):
    • 40 Marks for game skill, physical fitness & coach's observations during Trials
    • 50 Marks for recognized Sports Achievements
    • 10 Marks for Educational Qualification
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 65 Marks for Level-2 (GP 1900).
  • Proficiency in Typing Skill (if applicable for Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk posts, to be passed within 4 years of appointment).
  • Medical Examination as per Railway standards.
