Candidates will be eligible to get salary in proportion to the post they will be engaged in according to their merit. Selection Process for SSC GD Constable
Through different selection process the right candidates are selected by the officials. Candidates have a chance to clear all the selection process after giving written exam, interview and then physical test. If a candidate fails in the retake exam, it is not possible to appear in the next exam.
To know all these processes in detail, there are several steps to look at.
Step 1
First it is better to fill the application form and if there is any mistake in the form then it should be corrected at the appropriate time. After the release of the admit card, download it and keep it carefully with you to take the exam on the scheduled day.
Step 2
SSC GD Constable Exam will be conducted through CBT (Computer Based Test) for which candidates will have to visit the designated computer center on the exam day. Written exam tests the candidate on subjects like Reasoning and Mathematics, English and GA.
Step 3
If the written exam is successfully passed, the candidate is selected for the PET (Physical Efficiency Test), thus the candidate has to go to the field and show the qualification successfully.
- Race for Males : Other Candidates – 5 Km in 24 minutes, and Ladakh Candidates – 1.6 Km in 7 Minutes
- Race for Females : Other Candidates -1.6 Km in 8(1/2) minutes, and Ladakh Candidates – 800 Meters in 5 Minutes
Step 4
After passing the physical ability test, the PST (Physical Standard Test) is conducted by examiners, through which all these are seen for height and chest measurement (boys only).
- Height for Males : Gen/ OBC/ SC – 170 cm, and ST – 162.5 cm
- Height for Females : Gen/ OBC/ SC – 157 cm, and ST – 150 cm
- Chest for Males : Gen/ OBC/ SC – 80 cm, and ST – 76 cm

Step 5
Next qualified candidates are called for medical test.
Step 6
Candidates who pass all these tests successfully get joining letter, and finally Document Verification is required to join.
SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2024
SSC GD Constable Tier-1 Exam is a computer based test with multiple choice questions. The exam is organized in total 13 regional languages including English, Hindi through CBT. Total questions are 80 and time is 60 minutes. For each correct question 02 marks are assigned and if the question is wrong there is negative marking of 0.50.
